Juan Carlos Obando

Established fashion designer JC Obando is one of the very few couturiers who can still state that every part of the creation of a garment is his own.  From the beginning of his career as creative director of advertising powerhouses, his attention to detail enables him to understand the full value of precise craftsmanship. Consequently, as a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and in dressing Megan Fox, Rose McGowen and Michelle Monaghan, his collections have gathered

wide support from fashion editors and industry insiders.

In designing for Atelier Swarovski Spring Summer 2012, Obando takes inspiration from the carabina shapes found in industrial climbing equipment and combines this style with a touch of fluorescent colour to create a contemporary jewellery collection. Using the innovative Swarovski pointiage technique where crystal is set into ceramic, the bright hues are tempered with softer shades of Swarovski crystal to form an original collection of chain link accessories that are exquisitely feminine and exude luxury through the high polish metal finishes. The collection is available in Jet with black ceramic, Pacific Opal with Celadon Green ceramic, Silver Shade with Fuchsia ceramic and Golden Shadow with Shining Yellow Ceramic.

“Inspired by portraits taken by Helmut Newton in California circa 1970, a series that showcased a hedonistic amalgamation of lavish indulgence with effortless sophistication.”
