New York based costume designer Zaldy designed stage wear for the Scissor Sisters, Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez whilst consulting on Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B clothing line. He launched his own collection which is worn by Beyoncé and Halle Berry and is the exclusive costume designer for Michael Jackson’s “This is it” Tour and Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball” Tour as well as costume designer for Cirque de Soleil.

Zaldy’s Atelier Swarovski Spring/Summer 2012 collection focuses on form and outline.  Dynamic shapes with inlets, channels and concave and convex points come together in the ‘Shadow’ pieces. There are highly polished articulated bracelets, stackable resin bangles and ergonomically shaped rings with baguette crystals. The pieces are available in two colorways, Crystal and a limited edition

“I'm not primarily a jewelry designer but, obviously love anything that has to do with a complete look. For this project I choose stones and cuts that appealed to me and then figured out what I would do with them later. I tried to draw jewelry designs but, was never happy with the renderings so I decided I would sculpt the jewelry myself out of Sculpey and set the stones within. This was a breakthrough and allowed me to just create pieces with my imagination using the stones and the clay as my inspiration....Every morning for two weeks I would wake up and start playing with the clay and crystals and eventually I ended up with this collection. The overall feeling for the collection comes across sort of Deco which was not intentional it just happened in the moment and I'm very happy with the outcome!”
