Proenza Schouler

Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez first joined forces on their final collection at Parson’s School of Design, in New York, and launched their label, Proenza Schoulder in Spring 2003, to a rapturous response from both press and buyers. Contrasts play a central role in their style, a balance between old world couture glamour and modern street elements, between uncomplicated tailored lines and intricate, exuberant, feminine details. For their A/W07 collection, they emphasised this element of contrast, by setting the lustre and shine of Swarovski crystal against the opaque density of raw felted wool, adding a layer of richness and complexity to their signature restrained elegance. They have brought these intriguing contrasts to ATELIER SWAROVSKI, in the form of a hat and belt, layering black on black, sheen on matt, encrusted with Swarovski shimmering jet crystal stones.
