Jonathan Saunders

ATELIER SWAROVSKI launches a third collection with Jonathan Saunders following his triumphant first season showing in New York. The British designer develops the exclusive Swarovski pointillage technique in which crystals are embedded into a ceramic-like material. For AW08, Saunders has created a nine-piece graphic collection including cylindrical and circular pendants, rings and leather bracelets. The hand cast symmetrical designs feature a diverse colour palette.

Jonathan Saunders says:

"This season, I wanted to explore the technique of pointillage further. I designed pieces using crystals set alongside materials such as leather and brass in simple bands and strapped around the wrist. Combining architectural and industrial references with an ancient and earthy colour palette to create a range that combines a modern feeling that is also reminiscent of the past. I also wanted a feeling of easiness, like the simple bracelet and ring. Other pieces in the range play with scale and are worn as oversized trinkets on belts and loops on garments."
