New York based designer Jason Wu received international recognition earlier this year when his designs became a wardrobe staple for America’s first Lady. With a background in sculpture and fashion design and an eclectic upbringing in Taiwan, Canada, Tokyo, and Paris, he combines his elegant style with a colourful flourish for his Atelier Swarovski collection. Feminine pieces feature necklaces trimmed with ribbon and clusters of crystals decorate bracelets, rings and earrings in two contrasting colourways, ‘Obsidian’ in jet and ‘Lava’ in fuchsia, pink and siam. Strands of gunmetal chains lie below luxurious layers of faceted crystal beads to create a textured, defined silhouette.
“"For Spring 2010, I have teamed up with Nadja Swarovski and Atelier Swarovski to create a collection of jewellery that exhibits the same texture and sculptural details seen in my work. The pieces are a study in contrast, with exposed chainmail and burnished metal alongside delicate crystals.”
