Winner of the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent 2009 and the 2010 Elle Style Young Designer Award, Holly Fulton is fast becoming a fashion phenemonon. For AW10 she designs a collection for Atelier Swarovski which takes its inspiration from her distinctive graphic prints. Transferring shapes from fabric to fashion jewellery, Holly juxtaposes multi-faceted crystals in monochrome colours with raw textured metals. The pieces are refined by a combination of gold and silver metalwork throughout each design, creating a luxe yet industrial look amongst the necklaces, bracelets and rings.
“For Autumn Winter 2010 I have been looking at the glass artist Louis Barillet and took influence from his palette of grey, black and white. Using the varying shades of metal reflects this and captures the industrial feel often present in my work. I feel the simplicity of the design allows the materials to speak for themselves whilst still creating a strong, simple aesthetic in keeping with my love of Deco. The crystal is a perfect contrast to the effect of 'hardware' and adds an element of luxe refinement, and echoes my desire to create luxurious pieces that can be worn effortlessly.”
