Cate Adair is the Emmy-nominated Costume Designer for the smash hit series, Desperate Housewives. Based in Los Angeles, Cate completed formal training in Fashion and Costume Design in her native Britain and has gone on to achieve industry-wide acclaim for her extensive design work in feature films, television and theatre. With credits that include Oprah Winfrey’s critically acclaimed Before Women Had Wings, the hit film I Know What You Did Last Summer, Beverly Hills Cop III, and Dreamwork’s Win a Date with Tad Hamilton.

Cate lends her considerable experience in the film world to design Atelier Swarovski’s first ever collection of clutch bags. Destined for the red carpet and encrusted with Swarovski crystal, the bags are available in black satin, silver and gold leather. The bags include delicate design features from a crystal bracelet which secures the clutch around the wrist, to Swarovski crystal clasps.

“In designing for Atelier Swarovski, I was inspired by the universality of the Swarovski crystals... the myriad ways they could be applied with equally stunning effect, an infinite array of colours, textures, shapes, and sizes that I could use in artistic expressions from geometric patterns to seemingly random clusters.

In the Evening Clutch Collection there are two diametrically opposed but quite complementary designs. I’ve tried to capture the cadence and soft glow of a sophisticated evening and the excitement and energy of endless possibilities.” Cate Adair
