Vincent Van Duysen

Spring/Summer 2015

Vincent Van Duysen is an award-winning architect who designs everything with playful, light geometric shapes and luxe natural materials. Following on from his hauntingly beautiful Cascade and Frost crystal lighting installations, he presents his first collection for Atelier Swarovski. The large, structural crystals seem to emerge naturally from the settings to create dramatic statement pieces. Available in warm gold tones or cooler greys and silver, the collection resembles icicles or frost patterns on a window. Multifaceted crystals stand away from their settings and the varied shapes, sizes and shades lend depth and texture to the pieces.

"For me, fashion is like architecture for the body."

— Vincent Van Duysen

Born and raised in Belgium, Van Duysen studied architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Saint-Lucas Ghent, setting him on the path to a hugely successful career. He worked all over Europe in Milan, Brussels and Antwerp before setting up his own office in 1990, taking commissions from around the world on buildings, interior design and installations. His previous forays into the fashion world include designing spaces for Selfridges and Calvin Klein as well as his installations for Swarovski.
