Proenza Schouler

Autumn/Winter 2007

Leading American fashion house Proenza Schouler has teamed up with Atelier Swarovski to create a collection that brings functionality and beauty together in a multitude of pieces that pay homage to classical shape.

"Our work isn't about fashion, it's about our lives."

— Proenza Schouler

Embellished with glossy jet black crystals in myriad different shapes and sizes, Proenza Schouler’s accessories remain sleek and elegant, rendered in uniform color. The onyx tones give off a subtle sparkle and break up the solid silhouettes of the pieces, adding glamour to the classic shapes of a cloche hat and a belt. The addition of Swarovski crystals transforms these everyday items into covetable luxury accessories.

Founded in 2002 by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who met while studying at Parsons School of Design and named the house after their mothers’ maiden names, Proenza Schouler has grown to be one of America’s most influential fashion houses. Their initial collection, also their senior thesis, was quickly snapped up by Barneys. The duo have more recently branched out into handbag and footwear design. They have been awarded five CFDA awards over the years, including the Swarovski Award for Ready-to-Wear in 2003.
