Matthew Williamson

Spring/Summer 2010

Inspired by the work of artist Jim Lambie, there is nothing shy about British fashion designer Matthew Williamson’s collection for Atelier Swarovski. With sharp shapes and clean lines amidst graphic pieces, the hexagonal and triangular resin electrify in vibrant hues of green, orange, blue and purple.

"The pieces are oversized to create a statement in a vibrant palette."

— Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson studied at Central Saint Martins and worked for Marni and British fashion company Monsoon before setting up his own luxury label in 1997. Williamson’s label is synonymous with a modern, vibrant femininity—one that is unafraid to take center stage. His debut collection, titled Electric Angels, set the tone for the label with its vivid colors and detailed bias dresses. The development of his own label has been complemented by a stint at Emilio Pucci and, more recently, his work has been the focus of a retrospective at the London Design Museum.
