Autumn/Winter 2011– Autumn/Winter 2014
As one of the first designers to collaborate with Atelier Swarovski, Christopher Kane is the designer with the longest relationship with the house, boasting collaborations that span across 10 seasons. Both soft and hard, smooth and sparkling, aligning prominent shine with simple elegance, the crystal mesh Bolster collections designed by Kane are one of Atelier Swarovski’s most iconic designs. For Autumn/Winter 2009, the original Bolster collection was reimagined. The subtle, laser-cut crystals of the Black collection burst with a faint touch of light, whilst the Scarab collection surrounds the ancient symbols of good fortune with Swarovski crystals as a dazzling homage to Ancient Egypt.
"I wanted to stay true to the classic design whilst changing its proportions."
— Christopher Kane
Even as a student at Central Saint Martins, Kane was attracting attention. His MA show, funded by Versace, went on to win the prestigious Harrods design award. The following year he embarked on his first collaboration with Atelier Swarovski and produced his first independent show to international acclaim. From this star studded beginning, he has gradually built his eponymous label into a sought after, high fashion staple.
