PIPPA SMALL
London based jewellery designer Pippa Small, who has previously created pieces for Gucci, Chlöe, Dosa and Nicole Farhi, collaborates with ATELIER SWAROVSKI for the first time this season. Small uses a combination of crystal and rock crystal in her designs. Rock crystal features natural structures, beautiful fissures and shiny milky areas, which contrast with the clarity of the Swarovski crystal. For Autumn/Winter 08 her collection features the Crystal Tangle necklace, River choker and bracelet, the rock crystal Ko-I-Nor pendant, ring and cuff.
“The inspiration for the collection is old Indian diamonds, cut to follow the natural shape of the stone and with the soft silvery grey light of the crystals reminds me of these pieces. The gentle glow from the stones reminds me of the caressing light from a tarnished antique Venetian mirror and reflections from candle light.”
