Matthew Williamson
Matthew Williamson’s passion for prints and animated geometric designs are combined in his first Atelier Swarovski accessories collection for spring / summer 2010. Handmade hexagonal and triangular resin shapes are finely edged in gold and silver, crowned with chequer-board crystals or decorated with large architectural crystals, some of which are inverted to show their underside. Hues of green, gold and blue, and orange, rose and purple culminate in statement cuffs, necklaces and clutches expressing his love of shape, colour and crystal.
“My Inspiration this season was drawn from the artist Jim Lambie’s work, which is primarily concerned with the combination of abstracted floral and strong graphic elements. Working with Swarovski, I designed a collection of accessories which articulate these themes. The pieces are oversized to create a statement in a vibrant palette, signature to the Matthew Williamson aesthetic.”
