ERICKSON BEAMON
The long standing and internationally successful partnership between Vicki Sarge and Karen Erickson is celebrated in their beautifully handcrafted designs for ATELIER SWAROVSKI. In their Spring/Summer 09 collection antique silver brooches, chandelier earrings, cuffs and necklaces are embellished with layers of silver filigrees and crowned with crystals to create an original collection of contrasting light and dark pieces. The Angel collection focuses on pale and reflective colours, with crystals in moonlight, powder green, pacific opal and comet argent light, while the Demon collection features darker, more complex tones of jet hematite, deep brown, and the oily green shades of crystal vitrail medium.
“The collection is called ‘Omniscient’ as I felt the inspiration comes from the magical sources which transcend time. We have taken shapes, which are African Masai in origin and reworked them with Swarovski crystals. This changes them from being organic into the magical source of crystal itself. I feel crystals have a special power, and combining them with Masai concepts from which jewellery originated, is a very powerful statement.”
